Will the Minister of HOUSING AND URBAN AFFAIRS be pleased to state:
(a) the total number of houses constructed in urban areas under the Pradhan Mantri Aawas Yojana – Urban (PMAY-U) during the last three years;
(b) the number and details of the houses likely to be constructed/acquired/purchased under the said scheme in Jharkhand, Haryana, Maharashtra, Jammu and Kashmir, West Bengal and Bihar, particularly Amravati district of Maharashtra, district-wise;
(c) the total number of beneficiaries in the said States, particularly in Kolhan district of Jharkhand, Sonipat district of Haryana, Amravati district of Maharashtra, Jammu district of Jammu and Kashmir, Hugli district of West Bengal and Bhagalpur district of Bihar under the said scheme; and
(d) whether expansion of PMAY-U has been planned to provide housing in urban areas in future and if so, the details thereof?
ANSWER

SHRI KAUSHAL KISHORE
(a): Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs (MoHUA) is implementing Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana – Urban (PMAY-U) since June 2015 to provide all-weather pucca house with basic amenities to all eligible urban households of the country. During last three years, 45.43 lakh houses were sanctioned, 46.04 lakh were grounded for construction and 39.63 lakh were completed/delivered to the beneficiaries under PMAY-U.
(b) & (c): District-wise details of houses sanctioned and constructed in the States of Jharkhand (including districts falling under Kolhan Division), Haryana (including district Sonipat), Maharashtra (including district Amravati), Jammu and Kashmir (including district Jammu), West Bengal (including district Hooghly) and Bihar (including district Bhagalpur) under PMAY-U is at Annexure-I, Annexure-II, Annexure-III, Annexure-IV, Annexure-V and Annexure-VI respectively.
(d): The scheme period of PMAY-U which was earlier upto 31.03.2022, has since been extended up to 31.12.2024, except Credit Linked Subsidy Scheme (CLSS) vertical of the scheme, to complete all the houses sanctioned without changing the funding pattern and implementation methodology.
