Lucknow Development Authority (LDA) Seeks NOC from IAF for Naimish Nagar Housing Scheme in BKT
The Lucknow Development Authority (LDA) is taking steps to launch its ambitious Naimish Nagar housing scheme in the Bakshi Ka Talab (BKT) area, but first, it requires a no-objection certificate (NOC) from the Indian Air Force (IAF). The proposed project spans 2,504 acres along the Sitapur–Raitha Road and is situated near the IAF station in BKT.
LDA Secretary Vivek Srivastava confirmed that the authority has formally requested permission from the IAF to proceed with the project, emphasizing the need for an NOC due to the project’s proximity to the Air Force station. “Only then can we proceed,” he noted.
The Naimish Nagar scheme is set to be one of LDA’s largest residential developments, covering approximately 15 million square meters and offering over 5,000 plots for both residential and commercial purposes. It will also feature improved connectivity via Kisan Path, enhancing road access to the area.

However, there are concerns regarding potential restrictions from the Air Force. A senior LDA official indicated that if the Air Force imposes limitations, particularly on high-rise buildings and commercial complexes, the project layout may need to be adjusted. The construction of houses near Air Force stations is subject to strict regulations to ensure the safety of aircraft operations and personnel, with general prohibitions on building structures within 100 meters of an Air Force station’s boundary wall.
For the housing project, LDA has identified 14 villages in the BKT tehsil for land acquisition, which includes areas such as Bhauli, Baurumau, Dhatingra, Gopramau, Laxmipur, Purba, Purva, Sairpur, Farrukhabad, Kodri Bhauli, Kamalabad, Kamalapur, Saidapur, and Palhari.
The proposal for the project is expected to be presented in the upcoming LDA board meeting for final approval. Upon receiving the green light, land acquisition will commence, followed by the initiation of development work.
Previously, LDA Vice Chairman Prathamesh Kumar highlighted the formation of a committee led by the secretary to review land parcels and logistical requirements to expedite the project’s launch. This development indicates a proactive approach by the LDA to meet the housing demands in the region while adhering to regulatory requirements.
