RANCHI-VARANASI ECONOMIC CORRIDOR
SMT. MAHUA MAJI:
Will the Minister of ROAD TRANSPORT AND HIGHWAYS be pleased to state:
(a) whether it is a fact that out of the Central Government’s 413-kilometre-long Ranchi-Varanasi Economic Corridor, only 60 percent construction of the 253-kilometre section of Jharkhand has been completed so far, if so, the details thereof; and
(b) Whether it is a fact that in some areas there are delays in obtaining approval from the Forest Department, which has stalled the construction work, if so, the details thereof?

(a) The current status of the project in the State of Jharkhand is at Annexure-A.
(b) Out of the total length of 256 km, a length of about 41 km is affected due to pending forest clearance. Details of the affected stretches are at Annexure B.
