Formation of the 8th Central Pay Commission: Stakeholder Inputs and Future Implementation Plans

The Government has announced the establishment of the 8th Central Pay Commission (CPC) to review and recommend adjustments to the pay structure for central government employees. In preparation for this, inputs have been solicited from key stakeholders, including the Ministry of Defence, Ministry of Home Affairs, Department of Personnel & Training, and various State Governments.

Once officially notified, the Government will appoint a Chairperson and Members to the 8th CPC. The implementation of any changes will occur only after the CPC submits its recommendations and these are accepted by the Government. This initiative aims to ensure fair compensation and address the evolving needs of government employees in India.
