Department of Agriculture, Cooperation and Farmers Welfare releases 2nd Advance Estimates of production of major crops for 2018-19 
The 2nd Advance Estimates of production of major crops for 2018-19 have been released by the Department of Agriculture, Cooperation and Farmers Welfare on 28th February, 2019. The cumulative rainfall in the country during the monsoon season (June to September, 2018) has been 9% lower than Long Period Average (LPA). The cumulative rainfall in North West India, Central India and South Peninsula during the aforesaid period has been overall normal. Most of the major crops producing states have witnessed normal monsoon rainfall. Accordingly, the production of most of the crops for the agricultural year 2018-19 has been estimated higher than their normal production. These estimates are subject to revision on account of more precise information flowing over time.

2. As per 2nd Advance Estimates, the estimated production of major crops during 2018-19 is as under:

  • Foodgrains – 281.37 million tonnes.
  • Rice – 115.60 million tonnes. (record)
  • Nutri / Coarse Cereals – 42.64 million tonnes.
  • Maize – 27.80 million tonnes.
  • Pulses – 24.02 million tonnes.
  • Tur – 3.68 million tonnes.
  • Gram – 10.32 million tonnes.
  • Oilseeds – 31.50 million tonnes.
  • Soyabean – 13.69 million tonnes
  • Rapeseed and Mustard – 8.40 million tonnes
  • Groundnut – 6.97 million tonnes
  • Cotton – 30.09 million bales (of 170 kg each)
  • Jute & Mesta -10.07 million bales (of 180 kg each)
  • Sugarcane – 380.83 million tonnes
3. As per Second Advance Estimates for 2018-19, total Foodgrain production in the country is estimated at 281.37 million tonnes which is higher by 3.89 million tonnes than the production of foodgrain of 277.49 million tonnes in 2ndAdvance Estimates of 2017-18. Further, the production during 2018-19 is higher by 15.63 million tonnes than the previous five years’ (2013-14 to 2017-18) average production of foodgrain.
4. Total production of Rice during 2018-19 is estimated at record 115.60 million tonnes. Production of rice has increased by 4.59 million tonnes than the production of 111.01 million tonnes in 2nd Advance Estimates of 2017-18. It is also higher by 7.80 million tonnes than the five years’ average production of 107.80 million tonnes.
5. Production of Wheat, estimated at 99.12 million tonnes, is higher by 2.01 million tonnes as compared to wheat production of 97.11 million tonnes in 2nd Advance Estimates of 2017-18. Further, the production of wheat during 2018-19 is higher by 4.51 million tonnes than the average wheat production of 94.61 million tonnes.
6. Production of Nutri / Coarse Cereals estimated at 42.64 million tonnes is lower by 2.78 million tonnes than the production of 45.42 million tonnes in 2nd Advance Estimates of 2017-18. Further, it is also lower by 0.45 million tonnes than the average production.
7. Total Pulses production during 2018-19 is estimated at 24.02 million tonnes which is marginally higher by 0.08 million tonnes than the previous year’s 2nd Advance Estimates of 23.95 million tonnes. However, the production of pulses during 2018-19 is higher by 3.77 million tones than the five years’ average production of 20.26 million tonnes.
8. Total Oilseeds production in the country during 2018-19 is estimated at 31.50 million tonnes which is higher by 1.62 million tonnes than the production of 29.88 million tonnes in 2nd Advance Estimates of 2017-18. Further, the production of oilseeds during 2018-19 is higher by 1.85 million tonnes than the average oilseeds production.
9. With an increase by 27.61 million tonnes over 2017-18 (as per 2nd Advance Estimates), total production of Sugarcane in the country during 2018-19 is estimated at 380.83 million tonnes. Further, the production of sugarcane during 2018-19 is higher by 31.05 million tonnes than the average sugarcane production of 349.78 million tonnes.
10. Production of Cotton estimated at 30.09 million bales (of 170 kg each) is lower than the production of 33.92 million bales in 2nd Advance Estimates of 2017-18. Production of Jute & Mesta is estimated at 10.07 million bales (of 180 kg each).

कृषि, सहयोग एवं किसान कल्याण विभाग ने वर्ष 2018-19 के लिए प्रमुख फसलों के उत्पादन के द्वितीय अग्रिम अनुमान जारी किए 
वर्ष 2018-19 के दौरान देश में कुल खाद्यान्न उत्पादन 281.37 मिलियन टन होने का अऩुमान वर्ष 2018-19 के दौरान चावल का कुल उत्पादन रिकॉर्ड 115.60 मिलियन टन होने का अनुमान कृषि, सहयोग एवं किसान कल्याण विभाग ने आज वर्ष 2018-19 के लिए प्रमुख फसलों के उत्पादन के द्वितीय अग्रिम अनुमान जारी कर दिए। मानसून सीजन (जून-सितंबर 2018) के दौरान देश में कुल वर्षा लम्बी अवधि के औसत (एलपीए) से 9 प्रतिशत कम रही है। इस अवधि के दौरान उत्तर-पश्चिम भारत, मध्य भारत और दक्षिण प्रायद्वीप में कुल वर्षा समग्र रूप से सामान्य रही है। ज्यादातर प्रमुख फसल उत्पादक राज्यों में मानसून के दौरान सामान्य वर्षा हुई है। तदनुसार, कृषि वर्ष 2018-19 के दौरान ज्यादातर फसलों का उत्पादन उनकी सामान्य पैदावार से अधिक रहने का अनुमान लगाया गया है। आने वाले समय में और ज्यादा सटीक सूचनाएं प्राप्त होने पर इन अनुमानों में संशोधन किए जायेंगे। 
द्वितीय अग्रिम अनुमानों के मुताबिक वर्ष 2018-19 के दौरान प्रमुख फसलों के अनुमानित उत्पादन का विवरण नीचे दिया गया है :
  • खाद्यान्न – 281.37 मिलियन टन
  • चावल – 115.60 मिलियन टन
  • पौष्टिक /मोटे अनाज– 42.64 मिलियन टन
  • मक्का – 27.80 मिलियन टन
  • दलहन – 24.02 मिलियन टन
  • अरहर – 3.68 मिलियन टन
  • चना – 10.32 मिलियन टन
  • तिलहन – 31.50 मिलियन टन
  • सोयाबीन – 13.69 मिलियन टन
  • रेपसीड एवं सरसों – 8.40 मिलियन टन
  • मूंगफली – 6.97 मिलियन टन
  • कपास – 30.09 मिलियन गांठें (प्रत्येक 170 किलोग्राम)
  • जूट एवं मेस्ता -10.07 मिलियन गांठें (प्रत्येक 180 किलोग्राम)
  • गन्ना – 380.83 मिलियन टन
वर्ष 2018-19 के लिए द्वितीय अग्रिम अनुमानों के मुताबिक, देश में कुल खाद्यान्न उत्पादन 281.37 मिलियन टन होने का अऩुमान लगाया गया है। यह वर्ष 2017-18 के द्वितीय अग्रिम अनुमान के 277.49 मिलियन टन के खाद्यान्न उत्पादन की तुलना में 3.89 मिलियन टन अधिक है। इसके अलावा, इस दौरान खादयान्न उत्पादन पिछले पांच वर्षों (2013-14 से लेकर 2017-18 तक) में हुए औसत उत्पादन से 15.63 मिलियन टन अधिक है।
वर्ष 2018-19 के दौरान चावल का कुल उत्पादन रिकॉर्ड 115.60 मिलियन टन होने का अनुमान लगाया गया है। यह वर्ष 2017-18 के द्वितीय अग्रिम अनुमान के 111.01 मिलियन टन के उत्पादन की तुलना में 4.59 मिलियन टन अधिक है। यही नहीं, इस दौरान चावल का उत्पादन पिछले पांच वर्षों में हुए 107.80 मिलियन टन के औसत उत्पादन से 7.80 मिलियन टन अधिक है।
वर्ष 2018-19 के दौरान गेहूं का कुल उत्पादन 99.12 मिलियन टन होने का अनुमान लगाया गया है। यह वर्ष 2017-18 के द्वितीय अग्रिम अनुमान के 97.11 मिलियन टन के उत्पादन की तुलना में 2.01 मिलियन टन अधिक है। यही नहीं, इस दौरान गेहूं का उत्पादन पिछले पांच वर्षों में हुए 94.61 मिलियन टन के औसत उत्पादन से 4.51 मिलियन टन ज्यादा है।

वर्ष 2018-19 के दौरान दालों का कुल उत्पादन 24.02 मिलियन टन होने का अनुमान लगाया गया है। यह वर्ष 2017-18 के द्वितीय अग्रिम अनुमान के 23.95 मिलियन टन के उत्पादन की तुलना में 0.08 मिलियन टन अधिक है। यही नहीं, इस दौरान दालों का उत्पादन पिछले पांच वर्षों में हुए 20.26 मिलियन टन के औसत उत्पादन से 3.77 मिलियन टन ज्यादा है।
वर्ष 2018-19 के दौरान तिलहन का कुल उत्पादन 31.50 मिलियन टन होने का अनुमान लगाया गया है। यह वर्ष 2017-18 के द्वितीय अग्रिम अनुमान के 29.88 मिलियन टन के उत्पादन की तुलना में 1.62 मिलियन टन अधिक है। यही नहीं, इस दौरान दालों का उत्पादन पिछले पांच वर्षों के औसत उत्पादन से भी 1.85 मिलियन टन अधिक है।
वर्ष 2018-19 के दौरान गन्ने का कुल उत्पादन 380.83 मिलियन टन होने का अनुमान लगाया गया है। यह वर्ष 2017-18 के द्वितीय अग्रिम अनुमान के उत्पादन की तुलना में 27.61 मिलियन टन अधिक है। यही नहीं, इस दौरान गन्ने का उत्पादन पिछले पांच वर्षों के 349.78 मिलियन टन के औसत उत्पादन से भी 31.05 मिलियन टन अधिक है।
वर्ष 2018-19 के दौरान कपास का उत्पादन 30.09 मिलियन गांठ (प्रत्येक 170 किलोग्राम) होने का अनुमान लगाया गया है जो वर्ष 2017-18 के द्वितीय अग्रिम अनुमान के 33.92 मिलियन गांठों के उत्पादन की तुलना में कम है। वर्ष 2018-19 के दौरान जूट एवं मेस्ता का उत्पादन 10.07 मिलियन गांठ (प्रत्येक 180 किलोग्राम) होने का अनुमान लगाया गया है।

Nation witnesses record production of 311.7 MT Horticulture Crops in 2017-18, 3.7% higher than the previous year and 10% higher than past 5 years’ average production
The Department of Agriculture, Cooperation and Farmers Welfare has released the 2017-18 (Final) and 2018-19(1st Advance Est.) of Area and Production of Horticulture Crops. These estimates are based on the information received from different State/UTs in the country.

Highlights for 2017-18(Final Estimates):-
  • There has been a record production of Horticulture Crops with production during the year 2017-18(Final) reaching 311.7 Million Tonnes which is 3.7% higher than the previous year and 10% higher than the past 5 years’ average production
  • Production of fruits is estimated at 97.35 million tonnes which is 4.8% higher than previous year
  • Production of vegetables is estimated at about 187.5 million tonnes which is about 3.5% higher than the previous year.
  • With an increase of 3.7%, the production of Onion during the year 2017-18 is estimated at 23.26 Million Tonnes as against 22.4 Million Tonnes in 2016-17.
  • Production of Potato in the year 2017-18 (Final) is estimated at 51.3 Million Tonnes as against 48.6 Million Tonnes in 2016-17 (5.6% higher than 2016-17).
Highlights of 2018-19(First Advance Estimates)
  • The Total Horticulture production of the country is estimated to be314.5 Million Tonnes during 2018-19 (First Adv. Est) which would be0.95% higher than the 2017-18 and 8% higher than the past 5 years’ average production.
  • Onion production in current year is likely to be around 23.62Million Tonnes as against 23.26Million Tonnes in 2017-18 (1.5% higher).
  • Potato production in current year is estimated at 52.58Million Tonnes as against 51.31Million Tonnes in 2017-18(6% higher).
Tomato production in the current year is likely to be around20.51Million Tonnes as against 19.76Million Tonnes in 2017-18 (2% higher).
