Subject: Participation in Rashtriya Kavya Utsav – National Recitation Competition on Rashtriya e-Pustakalaya (ReP) for students of Classes IX–XII

Dear Principal,

The National Book Trust (NBT) under the aegis of Ministry of Education, Department of School Education & Literacy, Government of India, is organising “Rashtriya Kavya Utsav”, A National Recitation Competition through Rashtriya e-Pustakalaya (ReP) for students of Classes IX to XII across the country from 1 June 2026 to 31 July 2026.

The competition aims to promote reading habits, appreciation of literature and poetry, and expressive communication skills among students. It seeks to make poetry more accessible and engaging while fostering creativity, confidence, and literary expression among young learners.

Participation Details

Students are required to:

  • 1. Select a poem from the list available on the Rashtriya e-Pustakalaya (ReP) platform.
  • 2. Record a 60–90 second video of their recitation.
  • 3. Upload the video on the prescribed social media platforms using the designated official handles and hashtags.
  • 4. Submit their entry through the official ReP website/application.

A concept note with detailed guidelines regarding eligibility, participation, evaluation criteria, and certification is available at Annexure A and the same may also be accessed through the Rashtriya e- Pustakalaya platform. The selected poems will be featured on the Rashtriya e-Pustakalaya (ReP).

Please facilitate awareness regarding the Rashtriya e-Pustakalaya platform and its resources and display and share promotional material/banners, wherever feasible available at Annexure B.

You are requested to disseminate information regarding the competition among students of classes IX–XII and encourage maximum participation as part of literary and creative engagement activities.
