Subject: CBSE National Level Selection-Trials for Participation in SGFI Nationals (2026-27) in Karate and Wrestling – reg.
Dear Principal
CBSE has been affiliated with School Games Federation of India (SGFI) w.e.f. 08.07.2024. Accordingly, the national winners of CBSE Games are participating in SGFI National School Games organized by SGFI. For representing CBSE in the SGFI National School Games (2026-27) in Karate and Wrestling (Free-style), national level selection-trials are being organized. Following may be noted in this regard:
1. Rules: The rules for Karate and Wrestling (Free-style) will be same as of SGFI. The age-categories and weight-categories are attached at Annexure 1.
2. Apply to Organize Selection-Trials: The schools interested to organize national level selection-trials in Karate and Wrestling may apply through the following link by 05.10.2026 (2:00 pm): https://forms.gle/a7iweK6Sfbiiw4u79
3. Entries for Participation: The schools interested to participate in selection-trials shall send entries of their students directly to the organizing schools through email at least five days prior to the event, so that the organizing schools may make arrangements accordingly. List of venues will be informed soon. As these are selection-trials, no certificates shall be given.
4. Accommodation & Meals: The organizing schools shall make arrangements for accommodation (including bedding) and all meals for participating teams/ individuals. Each participant shall pay Rs.500/- per day for all meals and accommodation to the organizing school. For the purpose of safety/ security and to ensure identity/ entry of only authorized players in the venue, the organizing school should issue an ID card to each participant. The organizing school may charge upto Rs.100/- per player for the same.
5. Safety and Security of Participants: Safety and security of the participants/ teams/ coaches etc. will be the responsibility of the participating schools and the organizing schools. Each participating school must ensure proper insurance cover for all the members of its delegation, including health, accident and travel etc. During the travel, stay or tournament, if any accident occurs, the CBSE shall not be responsible for any claim or legal liability. The parents/ guardians must be informed about the same, and an undertaking may be taken by the participating schools from the parents/ guardians regarding the same.
