Final Call : Submit Your Unified Pension Scheme (UPS) Requests by November 30, 2025
The Ministry of Finance, Government of India, is reminding eligible employees and National Pension System (NPS) subscribers that the deadline to opt for the Unified Pension Scheme (UPS) is fast approaching. As per the notification dated 24th January 2025, those wishing to switch to UPS must submit their requests by 30th November 2025.
Eligible individuals have two options for submitting their requests: they can either utilize the online CRA (Central Recordkeeping Agency) system or complete a physical application form and submit it to their respective Nodal Offices. It is important to adhere to this deadline to ensure that all requests are processed appropriately.
The UPS offers several key benefits, including the option to switch, tax exemptions, and provisions related to resignation and compulsory retirement. This scheme not only enhances financial security but also provides flexibility, as employees opting for UPS can switch back to NPS at a later date if they wish.
Employees and past retirees of the Central Government under NPS are encouraged to act promptly and submit their requests to take full advantage of the benefits provided under the Unified Pension Scheme.
