Subject: Prior Intimation of Submission of List of Candidates (LOC) for Class X/XII Examination- 2025-26- reg
Madam/Sir,
This is to inform all affiliated schools that on 2026, CBSE will conduct the following examinations :-
1. Main Examinations for Classes X and XII tentatively in the Month of February/March 2026 .
2. Second Examinations for Class X tentatively in the Month of May 2026 .
3. Supplementary Examinations for Class XII tentatively in the Month of July 2026.
Thus the Board will conduct a total of 3 examinations for this Academic Session. This significant shift requires coordinated effort and planning at every level within a short period. The Board seeks the continued support and cooperation of all affiliated schools to ensure the smooth and successful conduct of all the three examinations and declaration of results thereafter on time.

The most important activities i.e. registration process in Classes IX and XI and LOC submission in Class X and XII wirn start shortly. To ensure that the personal data of the students and subjects offered are correctly submitted in registration and in LOC, schools should prepare themselves with following details :-
1. Correct and updated student details:
- Full name of the candidate (as per admission register)
- Date of birth of the candidate
- Gender
- Category (General/SC/ST/OBC, etc.)
- Full Parent/guardian names (correct spellings)
2. Subject-wise registration as per the scheme of studies.
3. Photograph and signature of each candidate in the specified format.
4 . APAAR ID of each student whose name is to be added in the Registration / LOC 2025-2026.
It is important that all candidate details are thoroughly checked for accuracy before submission, as errors may lead to complications later in the examination process.
Challenges and Issues Noted by the Board:
In recent examination cycles, the Board has faced several avoidable delays and operational difficulties due to the following reasons:
1. Incorrect subject code/ subject filled by schools for which correction is sought after submission of data.
2. Incorrect student’s/ parent’s details filled which also leads to correction requests from schools.
3. Non submission of LOC within the requisite time line.
Despite the fact that schools were reminded several times by CBSE to ensure correct submission of personal data and the subjects offered by the students, there were errors in the data submitted . A I such challenges have affected the Board’s ability to maintain timelines and ensure efficiency in examination while also leading to undue problems faced by candidates .
Thus, schools are requested to treat these responsibilities with required seriousness especially owing to the conduct of three examination cycles that the Board has to undertake this academic session.
All schools are once again requested to ensure that they are prepared with all correct student details before the submission of LOC.
