Subject: Self Nominations for the National Awards to Teachers 2024-25 under CBSE Quota.

The Ministry of Education, Government of India confers National Awards to Teachers to celebrate the unique contribution of outstanding teachers in the country. The Ministry has asked CBSE to recommend six nominations from private independent schools affiliated with the Board.

CBSE invites self-nominations from interested and eligible teachers and principals from its affiliated private independent schools.

Eligibility

  • Teachers must have completed at least 10 years of regular service as a teacher in school(s) affiliated to recognized Board of school education by 31st March 2025.
  • Principals must have completed 10 years of regular service as a teacher and 5 years as a Principal in CBSE affiliated school(s) by 31st March 2025.
  • Teachers or Principals retired on or after 31st March 2025 are also eligible to apply.
  • Principals are not eligible to apply under the ‘Teacher’ category.
  • An applicant can apply under only one category.

The detailed general and specific criteria for selection are provided in Annexure ‘A’.

Submission of Application Only ONLINE Applications will be accepted. The link for registration and application is available under the tab for this circular at: https://cbseit.in/cbse/2025/tchawrd/index.aspx

All applicants must apply directly on or before 6th July 2025 and upload following documents:

  • a. An undertaking declaring that all the particulars submitted are correct and documents uploaded are genuine.
  • b. Recommendation letters including, certification of continuous and regular service and vigilance clearance, duly signed by the Manager of School. These should confirm no break in service for the last 10 years (in case of teachers) and 15 years (in case of Principals).
  • c. Copies of certificates/degrees and mark statements of Class 10/11/12/Equivalent (indicating Date of Birth); Graduation; Post Graduation and professional qualifications (NTT/ETE/B. El. Ed./B.Ed./Others).
  • d. Class Result in Board/School Examinations;

Selection Procedure

CBSE will prepare a merit list based on experience, age, academic qualifications, performance in qualifying exams, and other specified criteria. From this list, the top 24 applicants will be shortlisted. In the event of a tie, CBSE reserves the right to apply additional criteria. Shortlisted applicants will be given two days to upload verified documents. Applicants must ensure their documents are ready in PDF format (max 1MB) and duly signed and verified:

  • (i) By the Head of School (for teachers)
  • (ii) By the Manager of School (for Principals)

A National Level Scrutiny Committee will further shortlist and invite applicants for an interactive session, after which the final six nominations will be decided.

All school heads are requested to ensure wide dissemination of this information among all concerned teachers.

It is reiterated that all required information and documents must be uploaded on the portal on or before the last date.
