ANSWER
THE MINISTER OF STATE IN THE MINISTRY OF HOUSING AND URBAN AFFAIRS
SHRI KAUSHAL KISHORE
(a) to (d): Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs (MoHUA) is implementing Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana - Urban (PMAY-U) since 25.06.2015 to provide pucca house with basic amenities to all eligible urban beneficiaries across the country. The State/UT-wise details of houses sanctioned, grounded for construction and completed/delivered in various States including Uttar Pradesh during the last three years under PMAY-U are at Annexure.
The houses have been progressively completed as per sanction over the years. Against the validated demand of 1.12 crore houses, as on 24.07.2023, 118.90 lakh houses have been sanctioned under PMAY-U, out of which, 112.25 lakh have been grounded for construction; of which 75.51 lakh are completed/ delivered to the beneficiaries. Remaining houses are at various stages of construction.
The projects under PMAY-U have been progressively (year-on- year) submitted by States/Union Territories (UTs) to the Ministry for consideration of Central Assistance. The completion time of the houses generally takes 12 to 18 months for individual houses and 24 to 36 months in case of multi- storeyed houses sanctioned under the scheme.
There are no fixed targets under PMAY-U scheme. Based on the proposals submitted by States/UTs, all proposals have been sanctioned by the Ministry. No further projects are pending with the Ministry for approval. The implementation period of PMAY-U which was earlier up to 31.03.2022, has since been extended up to 31.12.2024, except Credit Linked Subsidy Scheme (CLSS) vertical, without changing its funding pattern and implementation methodology to complete all houses sanctioned under the scheme.
