Eligible beneficiaries under Pradhan Mantri Matru Vandana Yojana

1588. SHRI RAJENDRA GEHLOT:

Will the Minister of WOMEN AND CHILD DEVELOPMENT be pleased to state:

(a) the number of eligible beneficiaries under Pradhan Mantri Matru Vandana Yojana (PMMVY) during the last three years, State-wise;

(b) the actual number of beneficiaries during the said period, State-wise;

(c) whether State Governments have any role to play in the implementation of this scheme, if so, the details thereof; and

(d) whether any steps have been taken by Government to ensure full cooperation between the Centre and the States in this regard, if so, the details thereof, if not, the reasons therefor?

(a)& (b) The State/UT-wise total number  of  eligible  beneficiaries  who  have enrolled and total number of beneficiaries provided maternity benefit under the Pradhan Mantri Matru Vandana Yojana (PMMVY) during the last three years is at Annexed.

(c) & (d) The PMMVY is a Centrally Sponsored Scheme being implemented through State Governments/Union Territory Administrations. The Scheme is implemented by Women and Child Development or Social Welfare or Health & Family Welfare Department as decided by the respective State Government/UT Administration. In order to ensure proper implementation of PMMVY the Ministry of Women and Child Development handholds all States/UTs on matters related to Pradhan Mantri Matru Vandana Yojana Software (PMMVY Portal); facilitate scheme implementation by supporting, planning and monitoring activities associated with the technology solution; developing Information Education and Communication (IEC) plan, training modules, capacity building of Accredited Social Health Activist (ASHA), Auxiliary Nurse and Midwife (ANM) and Anganwadi Workers (AWWs).

The Ministry of Women and Child Development provide funds for honorarium to Anganwadi Workers/ASHA for filling up Pradhan Mantri Matru Vandan Yojana online form. Ministry also provide funds for administrative work, vocational activities, training, computer peripherals, fax, internet etc. under Mission Shakti.
