SHORT TERM SKILL COURSES UNDER PMKVY

Will the Minister of SKILL DEVELOPMENT AND ENTREPRENEURSHIP be pleased to state:

(a) whether the Government has conducted any short term skill courses under the Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana (PMKVY) across the country in identified and affiliated Engineering colleges/polytechnics;

(b) if so, the details thereof during last 4 years and current year so far, State-wise along with the number of youths benefited from the said courses so far across the country, State-wise; and

(c) the total amount spent by the Government under PMKVY during said period in the State of Gujarat?

(a) All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) with the support of Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship has implemented Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana-Technical Institutes (PMKVY-TI) through its approved institutions across the country during 2016 to 2019. Under the programme, existing spare infrastructure / capacities of engineering colleges / polytechnics was utilized for conducting National Skill Qualification Framework (NSQF) aligned courses. Further Institutes are offering skill certification of the programme to the students.

(b) The state-wise details of students registered and certified under the PMKVY-TI during 2016 to 2019 are given at Annexure.

(c) Under the PMKVY-TI programme, the total expenditure was Rs. 6.29 Crore in the State of Gujarat.
