SALARY TO ANGANWADI TEACHERS
4010: SHRI S. MUNISWAMY:
Will the Minister of WOMEN AND CHILD DEVELOPMENT be pleased to state:
(a) the State which pays the highest salary to the Anganwadi teachers in the country;

(b) whether the Government is considering to provide equal salaries to all Anganwadi teachers at par with the highest paying State and if so, the details thereof; and
Salary to the Anganwadi teachers
(c) the share of the salary of these Anganwadi teachers contributed by the Union Government?
ANSWER
MINISTER OF WOMEN AND CHILD DEVELOPMENT 

SHRIMATI SMRITI ZUBIN IRANI
a. Statement indicating the additional honorarium given by State/ UTs from their own resources to Anganwadi Workers (AWWs) and Anganwadi Helpers (AWHs) is placed at Annexure I.
b. There is no proposal under consideration.
c. The prescribed cost sharing ratio between Central and State Governments for the Honorarium given to Anganwadi workers and helpers is as under :
States/ UTs with Legislature – 60:40
NE / Himalayan States (including J&K) – 90: 10 UT without legislature- 100:0
This  is  applicable  to  all  States/UTs. Government  releases  funds  to  the States/UTs as per the prescribed cost sharing ratio
