Construction of Roads on both sides on Railway Crossings under Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana

 CONSTRUCTION OF ROADS ON BOTH SIDES OF RAILWAY CROSSINGS

Will the Minister of RURAL DEVELOPMENT be pleased to state:

(a) whether there is any proposal to construct roads on both sides of railway crossing located near villages under Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana (PMGSY);

(b) if so, the details thereof; and

(c) if not, the steps taken by the Government to approve the proposal keeping in view the rural development?

(a) to (c) Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana  (PMGSY)  was  launched  with  the objective to improve rural connectivity to provide access to economic and social services to the rural population. On a road alignment selected for construction/ up-gradation under PMGSY, the road work including its approaches on both sides of railway crossings falling on such alignment are constructed under PMGSY.
