PRADHAN MANTRI LAGHU VYAPARI-MAAN-DHAN YOJANA

Will the Minister of LABOUR AND EMPLOYMENT be pleased to state:
(a)the number of enrolments in Pradhan Mantri Laghu Vyapari-Maan- Dhan Yojana, State-wise;
(b)whether the enrolments are below the expectation of targets- estimated by the Government;

(c)whether the Government has plans to modify the scheme to make it more attractive; and
(d)if so, the details thereof?
ANSWER
MINISTER OF STATE (IC) FOR LABOUR AND EMPLOYMENT
(SHRI SANTOSH KUMAR GANGWAR)
(a) to (d): National Pension Scheme for Traders, Shopkeepers and Self-Employed Persons (Earlier name was Pradhan Mantri Laghu Vyapari-Man-Dhan) has been launched on 12.09.2019 to provide old age protection to the Traders, Shopkeepers and Self Employed Person. The number of enrolments State-wise is given in Annexure.
As the scheme has been launched on 12th September, 2019 only, the Scheme is being popularised among the target groups. Further, all State/UT Governments were requested for popularizing and bringing more awareness about the Scheme. The progress of the Scheme is being reviewed regularly in the Ministry at senior level with State/UT Governments, for taking initiatives under Mission Mode.
