AAPDA MITRA SCHEME

Will the Minister of HOME AFFAIRS be pleased to state:

(a) whether Government is planning to implement the Aapda Mitra scheme, pan-India based on positive feedback;

(b) if so, the details thereof including the time frame of implementation; and

(c) the districts to be included along with the natural disaster for which training will be provided?

ANSWER

(a) & (b): Yes, Sir. The  detail  of  upscaled  Aapda  Mitra  Scheme  is  as under: –

(i) To train 100,000 able –bodied volunteers in disaster response in 350 districts (flood, cyclone, landslide, earthquake relief and rescue.

(ii) To provide a personal protective equipment/ emergency responder kit to each trained community volunteer and also Group Insurance covering Life and Medical Facility.

(iii) To create a Community Emergency Essential Resource Reserve at the District/Block level containing essential light search & rescue equipments, medical first aid kits, etc.

(iv) The scheme period is 3 years upto December, 2023.

[c] 350 districts from all the States/UTs., vulnerable to flood, cyclone, landslide and earthquake, have been taken up under the scheme. List of 350 districts is annexed.
