Will the Minister of RURAL DEVELOPMENT be pleased to state:

(a) the number of persons trained under Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Grameen Kaushal Yojana (DDU-GKY) during the last three years and the number of people targeted to be trained by the year 2024, State-wise including the State of Maharashtra;

(b) whether it is a fact that 31,297 beneficiaries received training and 49,464 beneficiaries got placement in financial year 2021 against 2,44,051 and 1,50,076 respectively in financial year 2020 under the DDU-GKY;

(c) if so, the reasons for such drastic decline in the number of people trained and placed under the said yojana;

(d) whether the Ministry has taken any steps to incentivize beneficiaries after getting placed;

(e) if so, the details thereof and if not, the reasons therefor; and

(a) The number of persons trained State-wise including Maharashtra under Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Grameen Kaushal Yojana (DDU-GKY) during the last three years are given at Annexure-I.

The DDU-GKY is a demand driven scheme and the targets are allocated to States as Action Plan targets as per demands received from States. The State-wise targets allocated to the States including the State of Maharashtra for the Action Plan period 2019-23 are given at Annexure-II

(b) The details of the candidates trained and placed under DDU-GKY during 2019-20 and 2020-21 are given below:.

(c) The training under DDU-GKY during 2020-21 and 2021-22 was impacted due to pandemic COVID-19 resulting in training centres being closed for considerable period of time.
(d) & (e) There is a provision under DDU-GKY for post placement support. The candidates who are placed within District are to be provided Rs. 1000/- per month for two months. The candidates who are placed out of District and within State are to be provided Rs. 1000/- per month for three months. The candidates who are paced out of State are to be provided Rs. 1000/- per month for six months. Mobile top-up support @ Rs. 50 per month for a period of 12 months is also permissible within the Scheme for mobile tracking of the trainee. In addition, Migration Support Centers are also sanctioned in key cities where the number of trainees placed in and around the location of such center is large. These centers provide alumni support, counseling services, accomodation assistance, networking with employers, periodic get-together, newsletters, coordination with local civic and police authorities are performed. Every State Rural Livelihood Mission is also expected to draw up alumni support strategy for better welfare and career progression of trainees.
