Subject: Promotion of Inter-Generational Bonding and Participation of Senior Citizens in School Activities- reg.
This is in continuation of the Circular No. Acad- 06/2026 dated 30.01.2026 regarding guidelines for promoting Inter-Generational Bonding in Schools. All schools may undertake the following initiatives to encourage inter-generational bonding and active participation of senior citizens in school activities:
1. Involvement of Senior Citizens in School Events
Schools may invite grandparents and senior citizens to participate in important events and national celebrations such as:
- Republic Day
- Independence Day
- Bal Diwas
- International Day of Older Persons etc.
2. Organisation of Bonding and Awareness Activities
Schools may organize suitable activities and programmes aimed at strengthening emotional and social bonding between students and senior citizens. Such activities may include:
- Walkathons
- Interaction sessions
- Awareness programmes and community engagement activities
The participation of senior citizens in school programmes will help inculcate values of respect, empathy and social responsibility among students while fostering stronger community relationships. You are requested to ensure effective implementation of the above initiatives.
