MEDICAL COLLEGES SEATS IN DELHI

2129. SHRI RAMVIR SINGH BIDHURI:

Will the Minister of HEALTH AND FAMILY WELFARE be pleased to state:

(a) the total number of medical seats available in the medical colleges in Delhi;

(b) whether the Government has conducted any study to find out the required number of medical seats in Delhi and if so, the details thereof; and

number_of_medical_seats_available_in_the_medical_colleges_in_delhi

(c) the number of streams offered in the medical colleges and the number of seats available for each of these streams in these colleges in Delhi?

(a) to (c) As informed by the National medical Commission (NMC), there are a total of 1396 MBBS seats in medical colleges in Delhi for the Academic Year 2025-26. Further, as of now, there are a total of 3,017 Post Graduate (PG) Seats in medical colleges in Delhi. The number of course wise (Broad Specialty and Super-Specialty) Seats in Delhi are at Annexure-I and Annexure-II

Note: (i) The seat figures do not include any positions sanctioned under Broad Specialty or Super Specialty programs in

(ii) The data represents the provisional seat availability for annual intake for the academic year 2025–26. These numbers are based on the fulfillment of regulatory requirements and other applicable parameters at the time of compilation.

(iii) Course-wise and stream-wise seat availability in medical colleges across Delhi is subject to revision. Final numbers may change depending on pending processing of Super Specialty (SS) applications, outcomes of First and Second Appeals and any further regulatory approvals or modifications.
