ANSWER

THE MINISTER OF STATE IN THE MINISTRY OF HEALTH AND FAMILY WELFARE
(PROF. S. P. SINGH BAGHEL)

(a) to (f): Ayushman Bharat – Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (AB-PMJAY) is the world’s largest publicly funded health assurance scheme which provides health cover of Rs. 5 lakh per family per year for secondary and tertiary care hospitalization to approximately 55 crore beneficiaries corresponding to 12 crore families constituting the bottom 40% of India’s population. States/UTs implementing AB-PMJAY have further expanded the beneficiary base at their own cost.

As on 05.02.2024, women account for approximately 49% of the verified individuals, out of a total of 31.02 crore Ayushman cards created across the country. Further, women account for approximately 48% of a total of 6.31 crore authorized hospital admissions under the scheme. As on 01.02.2024, a total number of 28,102 hospitals have been empaneled across the country to provide healthcare services to scheme beneficiaries.

The implementation model for convergence of AYUSH packages with AB-PMJAY involves discussions on various aspects of the AYUSH like package design, package cost, AYUSH hospital on-boarding, Standard Treatment Guidelines (STGs), objective definition of treatment outcomes, financial implications, etc. Apart from M/o AYUSH and NHA the other stakeholders are implementing States/UTs.
