ANSWER
MINISTER FOR WOMEN AND CHILD DEVELOPMENT

(SHRIMATI SMRITI ZUBIN IRANI)

(a) Under Pradhan Mantri Matru Vandana Yojana (PMMVY), more than 3.59 crores beneficiaries have been enrolled since inception of the Scheme in 2017-18 and till 02.12.2023. Further, maternity benefits of more than ₹14,428.35 crores (includes both Central and State share) have been disbursed to more than 3.21 crores beneficiaries during the aforesaid period.

(b) No, Sir. The Government has digitized the application process for Pradhan Mantri Matru Vandana Yojana (PMMVY) with the introduction of a mobile app and a dedicated portal (PMMVYSoft MIS) making the process of application paperless. The URL of PMMVYSoft MIS is https://pmmvy.wcd.gov.in. The online application form is simple and easy to understand, ensuring a consistent and straightforward process. Anganwadi Worker (AWW)/Accredited Social Health Activist (ASHA) fills the forms of beneficiaries online on mobile app or on PMMVYSoft MIS. Further, provision of self- registration of beneficiary has been made on PMMVYSoft MIS so that a beneficiary or an individual on behalf of the beneficiary can register on PMMVYSoft MIS.

(c) Sufficient allocation has been made under PMMVY for implementation of the scheme. The Budget Estimates (BE) for the year 2023-24 is ₹2,067.86 crore.

(d) The Ministry has clubbed all schemes being implemented in the country for the welfare of women in two verticals, viz. (1) Saksham Anganwadi & Poshan 2.0 for improving nutrition indicators in the country; and (2) Mission Shakti, for safety, protection and empowerment of women.

(i) Saksham Anganwadi & Poshan 2.0: Under this programme, Anganwadi Services Scheme, POSHAN Abhiyaan and Scheme for Adolescent Girls has been reorganized into 3 primary verticals: (i) Nutrition Support for POSHAN and for Adolescent Girls (ii) Early Childhood Care and Education [3-6 years] and (iii) Anganwadi Infrastructure including modern, upgraded Saksham Anganwadis.

(ii) Mission Shakti: Mission Shakti comprises of two sub-schemes ‘Sambal’ and ‘Samarthya’ for safety and security of women and empowerment of women respectively. The existing schemes of One Stop Centres (OSC), Women Helplines (181-WHL) and Beti Bachao Beti Padhao (BBBP) have been made part of Sambal sub-scheme; while the existing schemes of PMMVY, Ujjwala, Swadhar Greh (renamed as Shakti Sadan) and Working Women Hostel (renamed as Sakhi Niwas), Krishna Kutir, Vrindavan (Home for Widows) and National Creche Scheme (renamed as Palna) have been subsumed in ‘Samarthya’
