IMPLEMENTATION OF PM-YASASVI SCHEME

Will the Minister of SOCIAL JUSTICE AND EMPOWERMENT be pleased to state:
(a) the details of PM Young Achievers Scholarship Award Scheme for Vibrant India (YASASVI) for Other Backward Castes (OBCs) and others;
(b) whether there is any scam in PM-YASASVI Post-Matric Scholarship Scheme for Scheduled Castes Students in different States of the country;
(c) if so, the details thereof, Sate-wise; and
(d) the amount of funds spent for Scheduled Caste students and students of other groups under this scheme?

(a): The Ministry is implementing an umbrella scheme namely PM Young Achievers Scholarship Award Scheme for Vibrant India (PM -YASASVI) for OBC and others, having following five components:
- i. Pre-Matric Scholarship for OBC, EBC and ONT Students
- ii. Post-Matric Scholarship for OBC, EBC and ONT Students
- iii. Top Class School Education for OBC, EBC and ONT Students
- iv. Top Class College Education for OBC, EBC and ONT Students
- v. Construction of Hostel for OBC Boys and Girls
(b) & (c): No Scheme by the name PM YASASVI Post- Matric Scholarship Scheme for Scheduled Castes Students is being run by the Ministry. However, there was a complaint of mis appropriation of funds in the State of Punjab under the Centrally sponsored scheme of Post Matric Scholarship to the Students belonging to Scheduled Castes for studies in India (PMS-SC). The matter was referred to the CBI for investigation.
(d): Under PM YASASVI Scheme. scheduled caste students are not covered. Further. expend iture for the last three years under each component of PM YASASVI for OBC and Others, is given in Annexu re-1.
