4782. SHRI HAJI FAZLUR REHMAN:
Will the Minister of COMMUNICATIONS be pleased to state:
(a) whether a number of Post Offices have been closed/relocated or downgraded in various States of the country by the Government during the last three years;
(b) if so, the details thereof, State-wise;
(c) whether the Government has decided to relocate the old post office of Sadharanpur village in Deoband Tehsil of Saharanpur district; and
(d) if so, the details thereof and if not, the reasons therefor?

(a) & (b) 458 post offices have been closed/relocated or downgraded during the last three years. Postal Circle- wise details (including States and Union Territories) of post offices closed/relocated or downgraded in last three years are given in Annexure.
(c) & (d) The branch post office functioning in village Sadharanpur, district Saharanpur was relocated to village Dugchadi Malakpur, district Saharanpur in March 2021. Postal facilities to residents of village Sadharanpur are being provided from the branch post office functioning in village Dugchadi Malakpur.
