CGHS DISPENSARIES IN JABALPUR

2893.  SHRI RAKESH SINGH:
Will the Minister of HEALTH AND FAMILY WELFARE be pleased to state:
(a) Whether the Government is aware that there are a large number of Central Government employees and CGHS beneficiaries in Jabalpur and if so, the details thereof;

(b) whether the Government proposes to increase the number of CGHS dispensaries in Jabalpur keeping in view less number of CGHS dispensaries presently and consequent hardship being faced by CGHS beneficiaries in the district;

ANSWER
THE MINISTER OF STATE IN THE MINISTRY OF HEALTH AND FAMILY WELFARE

DR. BHARATI PRAVIN PAWAR
(a) to (d): 6658 serving employees and 33,815 pensioners are registered with six  CGHS Wellness Centres in Jabalpur. Government considers opening of new Wellness Centre as per extant norms, which include minimum 6000 Central Government Serving employees in the city, subject to availability of resources, sanction for creation of posts of Medical Officers, Staff Nurse, Pharmacists, and Clerical Staff etc. by the Department of Expenditure, Ministry of Finance, and availability of suitable accommodation for new Wellness Centre. Opening of new CGHS Wellness Centre in Jabalpur is not envisaged as existing CGHS Wellness Centres are sufficient to cater to beneficiaries.
