2254.  SHRI BALUBHAU ALIAS SURESH NARAYAN DHANORKAR:
Will the Minister of RURAL DEVELOPMENT be pleased to state:
(a) the number of houses sanctioned, pending and completed under Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana-Gramin (PMAY-G), State-wise as of November 18,2022;

(b) whether the Government is on track to meet its extended deadline to build 2.95 crore rural homes by 2024, if so, the details thereof, if not, the reasons therefor; and

(c) whether the Government intends to deliver its promise of a house for every person by 2022 and the date by which the Government will achieve on this target and if so, the details thereof?

(a) The number of houses sanctioned, pending, and completed under Pradhan Mantri Awaas Yojana- Gramin (PMAY-G), State-wise as of November 18, 2022, is given in Annexure.
(b) & (c) Yes Sir. Against the target of 2.95 crore houses, a total of 2.50 crore houses have been sanctioned and 2.11 crore houses have already been completed as on 15.12.2022. Further, the milestone of completion 2.02 crore houses by 15th August 2022 has already been achieved. The Government is committed to achieve completion of 2.95 crore houses by 31st March 2024. To ensure timely achievement of the target, the Ministry is taking the following initiatives on regular basis:
  • Review of progress at the level of Ministry.
  • Launch of PMAY-G Dashboard for monitoring and supervision of the scheme.
  • Timely allocation of targets to the States/UTs and release of adequate funds.
  • Follow-ups with the State to ensure the release of central and state share of funds and provision of land to landless beneficiaries in rural areas.
  • Awards to the best performing States/UTs, Districts based on the performance index dashboard, thereby creating healthy competition and motivation among the States/UTs for achieving the set targets.
