Telangana Nethanna Bima Scheme will provide insurance cover of Rs 5 lakh

The Telangana Government always working hard for the growth of the weaving society. The Chief Minister of Telangana K Chandrashekhar Rao launched the Telangana Nethanna Bima Scheme on National Handloom Day with an aim to support the handloom weavers’ families. More than 70 lakh families of weavers will receive assistance under this scheme. The focus of this scheme is only on handloom weavers. Municipal Administration and Urban Development Minister organized the scheme by keeping in mind the needs of weavers. The scheme gives insurance cover of Rs 5 lakhs, and the family of the weaver will get the amount in case of any kind of accidental death. Telangana Nethanna Bima Scheme 2022

The announcement about the Telangana Nethanna Bima Scheme was made on 7th august 2022 to support Weaver families financially. For the successful functioning of the scheme, the government of Telangana has joined hands with the Life Insurance Corporation of India (LIC). The state government will pay the annual premium to provide insurance coverage to the families of weavers. The nodal agency’s Handloom and Textile Department was given the responsibility to see all over work of the scheme.

The main aim of the Telangana Nethanna Bima Scheme is to support the families of handloom weavers of the state. The state government wants to support families financially. The scheme will provide insurance cover of Rs 5 lakh.

The state government gives more than Rs 29 crore for the scheme this year.

The state government has given the order to a senior official of the handloom department to make draft guidelines for the scheme.
The coverage of the insurance will be given to weavers in the age group of 18 to 59 years.

Six Beneficiaries received benefits from the Telangana Nethanna Bima scheme

Under the Nethanna Bima Scheme, the state government has already started fulfilling the promises it made to the residents of the state. Recently the six weavers passed away due to many illnesses. Every nominee of six individuals has given the amount of insurance coverage. Even one weaver died on August 20, her insurance amount was also given to her husband K. Jagadish. The nominees must inform the department officials about the death of the individual. Without any delay, the concerned authorities are providing a direct transfer of coverage amount in the nominees’ bank accounts.
