NATIONAL SKILL TRAINING FOR WOMEN

state: Will the Minister of SKILL DEVELOPMENT AND ENTREPRENEURSHIP be pleased to

(a) the aims of National Skill Training Institute for Women NSTI (W);

(b) the total number of NSTI (W) in the country, State-wise;

(c) whether the State of Haryana has the highest level of unemployment among women in the country and if so, the details thereof;

(d) whether the Government plans to establish more NSTI (W) in Haryana in view of the aforementioned situation;

(e) if so, the details thereof and if not, the reasons therefor; and

(f) The details of any other steps taken by the Government to combat women’s unemployment in regions where it is highest, including Haryana, Jammu & Kashmir and Rajasthan?

(a) The aim of the National Skill Training Institute for Women under Directorate General of Training (DGT), Ministry of Skill Development & Entrepreneurship (MSDE), is to provide skill training to women in the country which enhances the employment opportunities among women of various socio-economic levels and different age groups.

(b) There are nineteen (19) National Skill Training Institute for Women (NSTI -W)  in  the country. State-wise details are attached at Annexure-I.

(c) As per the Periodic Labour Force Survey (PLFS) conducted by National Statistical Office (NSO) during July 2020-June-2021, Haryana does not have the highest level of unemployment among women in the country.

(d) & (e) No, Sir. In Haryana, the Government is currently running NSTI(W) in Panipat, with twelve (12) courses under Craftsmen Training Scheme (CTS) and five (5) courses under Craft Instructor Training Scheme (CITS), the total seating capacity being 494 trainees per year.

(f) The Government has established NSTI (W) at Panipat in Haryana, at Jammu in Jammu and Kashmir and at Jaipur in Rajasthan with an aim to provide Skill Training to women so that they can opt for wage employment or self-employment. The details of training imparted to Women in the CTS and CITS are given at Annexure-II.
