PMUY 1.0 and 2.0

Will the Minister of PETROLEUM AND NATURAL GAS be pleased to state:
(a) the total number of LPG connections provided under Pradhan Mantri Ujjawala Yojana (PMUY) 1.0 and 2.0, State/UT-wise and district-wise for Odisha;
(b) the total number of refills taken by beneficiaries of PMUY during the year 2021, State/UT-wise and district-wise for Odisha;
(c) whether the Government has conducted any survey on number of refills being taken by the beneficiaries, if so, the details on number of beneficiaries who have taken four or less refills during 2021, State/UT wise and if not, the reasons therefor;
(d) whether the Government has identified the number of beneficiaries who are back to cooking with firewood and cow dung cakes and if so, the number thereof, State/UT- wise; and
(e) whether the Government has conducted any study on low refills because of rising prices of LPG cylinders and if so, the steps taken by the Government to increase refills among beneficiaries of PMUY?

(a) State/UT-wise details of LPG connections released under Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana(PMUY Phase 1.0 and Ujjwala 2.0) are at Annexure-I and District-wise details of LPG connections released under PMUY in the State of Odisha are at Annexure-II.
(b) State/UT-wise details of refills taken by PMUY beneficiaries during Financial Year 2020-21 are at Annexure-III and District-wise details of refills taken by PMUY beneficiaries during Financial Year 2020-21 in the State of Odisha are at Annexure-IV.
(c) LPG consumption of Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana(PMUY) beneficiaries is monitored on regular basis. State/UT details of PMUY beneficiaries who have taken four or less refills during Financial Year 2020-21 are at Annexure-V.
(d) & (e) Per capita consumption of PMUY beneficiaries have increased from 3.01 (FY 2019-20) to 3.66 (FY 2021-22). Further, the Government has taken several steps to encourage better consumption of LPG by PMUY beneficiaries, which include deferment of loan recovery from subsidy amount, swap option from 14.2 kg to 5 Kg to reduce upfront cash outgo, option of 5 Kg Double Bottle Connection(DBC), conducting Pradhan Mantri LPG Panchayat to convince the beneficiaries to use LPG on sustained basis, mass awareness camps, upto 3 free refills to PMUY beneficiaries under Pradhan Mantri Gareeb Kalyan Package from April to December 2020 etc.
