Will the Minister of TRIBAL AFFAIRS be pleased to state:

(a) the number of beneficiaries under the Rashtriya Pravasi Chatravriti Yojana during the last three years;

(b) the details thereof, State-wise;

(c) the number of beneficiaries got enrolled in some foreign educational institution in the last three years and the details thereof, year-wise;

(d) the amount sanctioned, allocated and utilized under the said scheme during the last five years and the details thereof, year-wise; and

(e) whether the Government is considering to increase the number of scholarships in near future?

SHRI BISHWESWAR TUDU

(a) & (b): Ministry of Tribal Affairs is implementing the scheme of “National Overseas Scholarship Scheme” (Hindi transliteration Rashtriya Pravasi Chatravriti Yojana) for studies aboard for ST students, wherein 20 students are awarded scholarship every year. The State- wise detail of students provisionally awarded scholarship under this scheme for last three year is enclosed as Annexure.

(c): After selection, time of 2 years is given for getting him/her enrolled in a foreign University.   The number of NOS beneficiaries so far enrolled in foreign educational institution in the last three years is as below:-
