CRASH COURSE FOR COVID WARRIORS UNDER PMKVY

Will the Minister of SKILL DEVELOPMENT AND ENTREPRENEURSHIP be pleased to state:

(a) whether the Government has conducted customized crash course programme for covid warriors under Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana (PMKVY) 3.0 to meet the upsurge in demand of skilled healthcare professionals and provide timely healthcare services in every corner of the country;

(b) if so, the details thereof;

(c) the number of job roles offered under the above crash course;

(d) the details of Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Kendras (PMKKs) and other affiliated Training Centres (TCs), State-wise;

(e) the number of candidates enrolled and number of candidates classroom trained under the above programme; and

(f) the other steps being taken by the Government in this regard?

(a) and (b) Yes, Sir. Ministry is implementing  special  programme,  ‘Customized  Crash Course Programme for COVID Warriors (CCCP for CW)’ with the aim to train about one lakh COVID warriors. The objectives of CCCP for CW are to meet the upsurge in demand of skilled healthcare workers, reduce the burden of healthcare professionals and provide timely healthcare services in the country.

(c) Under CCCP for CW, training is being imparted in six customized job roles namely Basic Care Support, Home Care Support, Advanced Care Support, Sample Collection Support, Emergency Care Support and Medical Equipment Support.

(d) The State-wise list of training centres (TCs) including PMKKs providing training under the CCCP for CW is given at Annexure.

(e) As on 28.02.2022, 1,49,750 candidates have been classroom trained  under  fresh skilling and 9,908 candidates have been oriented under up-skilling. Out of classroom trained candidates under fresh skilling, 1,18,386 candidates are enrolled for On-the-job training (OJT). The State-wise details are given at Annexure.

(f) In order to mitigate the impact of COVID-19 pandemic and to restore the  skilling activities, MSDE has taken various initiatives under the skill ecosystem such as Introduction of On-line skill training through eSkill India portal and Bharat Skill portal, Customized Crash Course Programme for COVID Warriors, Special programme for training of reverse migrants under PMKVY in 6 States, COVID Allowance to training centres, Operation and Maintenance of Pressure Swing Absorption (PSA) Oxygen Plants, etc.
