Ladli Scheme Eligibility, registration details, amount, objective and how to apply

The number of increasing cases of female foeticide in the country is resulting in the declining status of girls in the family and society. So, the government of India has initiated the ladli scheme to promote a change in the mindset of the people in both rural and urban areas, especially in the states of Haryana and Punjab.
Ladli Scheme Eligibility
Ladli Scheme: Objective

The main objective of the scheme is to raise awareness regarding improving the status of girl children in Indian society.

The first initiative was launched by the Government of Haryana in the year 2005 which aimed at fighting against female foeticide.

It promotes the rearing of children by providing them with the right to birth and survival.

This results in the declining sex ratio of females and increasing the number of girls in families.

Ladli Scheme: Eligibility

The parents of the girl child should be residents of Haryana to get the financial incentives offered as per the government of Haryana.

In addition to the previous statement, there needs to be at least 1 living sister in the family along with one of the parents staying with the girl child in Haryana.

Birth of both the girl child requires a registration along with ensuring proper immunization of the girl which needs to be produced at the time of receiving each payment.

Both the girl children must be enrolled in the school or Anganwadi based on their ages.

How to apply for the Ladli Scheme

To get the benefits under the Ladli scheme, either of the parents of the girl can apply for the prescribed proforma.

This is available in the Anganwadi centres or in the offices of child development Project officers in rural and urban areas without any fee.

The application form needs to be filled with the application form submitted to the anganwadi workers and health staff of the respective areas.

Ladli Scheme: Documents Needed

  • The applicants need to submit a certified copy of the birth certificate of the second girl child issued by the authorities in addition to the application form.
  • It is suggested that the recent immunization records with the past immunization of both the girl child needs to be shown at the time of receiving each payment.
  • Acknowledgement letter received from SBIL
  • Residential Address
  • Marksheet of 10th or 12th (whichever is applicable)

How to Claim Maturity under the Ladli Scheme

The girls who are eligible under the scheme can claim for the maturity of the scheme by successfully passing their 10th or 12th standard exams and attaining an age of 18 years.

The beneficiary of this scheme should have a zero-balance saving account with the State Bank of India.

After the completion of the document verification, the money will be sent to a unique ID number in the name of the beneficiary girl.
