STREET VENDORS IN THE COUNTRY

Will the Minister of HOUSING AND URBAN AFFAIRS be pleased to state: –

(a) how many street vendors are registered in the country, district-wise, State-wise details thereof;

(b) how many street vendors have been provided with vending license, district-wise, State- wise in the country;

(c) how many Urban Local Bodies (ULBs) have done the survey of street vendors as per the Street Vendors Act, 2014;

(d) how many vendors have applied for the loan under PM Street Vendor’s Atma Nirbhar Nidhi (PMSVANidhi) scheme till July 19th, 2021, the details thereof ULB-wise and State- wise; and

(e) how many vendors have availed the loan under PMSVANidhi scheme till July 19th, 2021, the details thereof, ULB-wise and State-wise?

(a) & (b): As per the Street Vendors (Protection of Livelihood and Regulation of Street Vending) Act, 2014, the Urban Local Bodies (ULBs) have to conduct survey for identification of the Street Vendors and issue Certificate of Vending (CoV). State / UT-wise details of number of street vendors identified and Certificate of Vending issued are at Annexure-I. District-wise data is available with the respective States/UTs.

(c) As reported by States/UTs, survey of street vendors has been completed in 3,084 towns.

(d) &(e)  As on July 19, 2021, a total of 42.92 lakh loan applications have been received. Out of these, 22.62 lakh loans have been disbursed. State / Union Territory-wise and town-wise details of number of loan applications received and disbursed is at Annexure-II.
