HOUSES CONSTRUCTED UNDER URBAN HOUSING SCHEMES
NO. 2631. SHRI SHAKTISINH GOHIL
Will the Minister of HOUSING AND URBAN AFFAIRS be pleased to state:
(a) the details of urban houses constructed, during the last five years in the country, scheme-wise and State-wise/UT-wise;
(b) the details of urban housing, names of the cities in which construction of houses is in progress in current year, scheme-wise and project-wise;
(c) the number of beneficiaries of these schemes, city-wise and project-wise;
(d) whether the above-mentioned schemes have provided houses to all urban beneficiaries;
(e) if so, the details thereof;
(f) if not, the reasons therefor; and
(g) the steps being taken by Government to provide houses to urban people?

(a) State/ Union Territory(UT)-wise details of number of houses constructed under different verticals of Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana-Urban (PMAY-U) during last five years are at Annexure-I.
(b) & (c) City-wise details of number of projects and number of houses under construction for beneficiaries in the current year under PMAY-U are at Annexure-II.

(d) to (g) States/ UTs have undertaken demand survey to assess the actual demand of housing under the Scheme and assessed demand reported by States/ UTs is around 112.24 lakhs. Based on the project proposals submitted by the States/ UTs, around113 lakh houses have been sanctioned across the country. Against the total sanctioned houses, 84.94 lakh have been grounded for construction and 50.17 lakh have been completed and delivered to beneficiaries. Further, States/ UTs have been advised to ground for construction of the remaining sanctioned houses, complete all houses already grounded and saturate the demand city-wise.
