Will the Minister of ELECTRONICS AND INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY be pleased to state:
(a) the number of BPOs currently supported under India BPO Promotion Scheme (IBPS) in Jharkhand, district-wise;
(b) the total number of persons employed in such BPOs in Jharkhand including the number of women and persons with disabilities, district-wise; and

(c) the fund allocated for the scheme in Jharkhand along with the number of persons targeted to be employed in direct/indirect jobs under the said scheme?

(a) to (c) Under India BPO Promotion Scheme (IBPS), total 20 units have setup BPO/ITES operations for a total of 2950 seats providing direct employment to 1965 persons (including 653 women and 4 persons with disabilities) in the State of Jharkhand. IBPS provides financial support up to Rs. 1 lakh/seat in the form of Viability Gap Funding (VGF), accordingly Rs. 29.5 crore has been allocated for the State of Jharkhand. The Employment Target of under IBPS is 1.5 times the number of seats. Disbursement of funds to the units under IBPS is on reimbursement basis directly linked with the employment generation by them. District-wise details of units in Jharkhand are at Annexure.
