TARGET SET UNDER PMAY-G
50. SHRI RAM KUMAR SHARMA:
Will the Minister of RURAL DEVELOPMENT be pleased to state:
- (a) whether a target has been set for construction of one crore houses in various States in the country under the Pradhan Mantri Awaas Yojana–Gramin (PMAY-G) by the end of 2018-19;
- (b) if so, the facts in this regard;
- (c) whether only 56 lakh houses have been constructed till the end of October, 2018;
- (d) if not, the actual figures in this regard; and

(a) to (e) : The erstwhile rural housing scheme Indira Awaas Yojana (IAY) has been restructured into Pradhan Mantri Awaas Yojana-Gramin (PMAY-G) from 01.04.2016. PMAY-G was launched by Hon’ble Prime Minister on 20.11.2016. Under PMAY-G, 1.0 crore houses are targeted for construction over a period of three years from 2016-17 to 2018-19.
As per data uploaded by the States/UTs on the MIS of PMAY-G, AwaasSoft, 54,35,134 houses have been completed as on 31st October, 2018 under PMAY-G.
A statement indicating State/UT-wise house targeted and constructed under PMAY-G is given at Annexure-I.
