NOTICE
SUBMISSION OF EXAMINATION FORMS

BY PRIVATE CANDIDATES FOR CLASS-X SECOND BOARD
EXAMINATIONS-2026

As per the recommendations of NEP 2020, CBSE has introduced the Two Board Examination Policy, notified on 25 June 2025. Under this policy, Class X students appeared in examination 2026 will be given an opportunity to improve their performance in up to three subjects during the Second Board Examinations scheduled in May 2026.

In this examination, students who had appeared in examination 2025 and were placed in the Compartment Category are also allowed to appear. This Notice explains all the action needed to be taken by private candidates desirous of appearing in the Second Board Examinations 2026 under the third chance compartment category.

Eligibility Criteria for Appearing in the Second Board Examinations

The students shall apply through the “व्यक्तिगतपरीक्षार्थी” link available on the CBSE website. https://www.cbse.gov.in/newsite/private/index.html

Accordingly, the online submission of forms for the Second Board Examinations by the students placed in the above categories for the examination to be held in May -2026 will be starting during the second phase as per the schedule mentioned below:

Syllabus and Scheme of Examinations

The Second Board Examination will be conducted on the syllabus of first examination meant for the year.

Features of the Online system of submission of private candidates’ form:

  • (1) Both the form and fees will only be accepted in online mode strictly as per the schedules given herein.
  • (2) No application shall be accepted in offline mode.
  • (3) No application shall be accepted after the last date on any ground.
  • (4) No application shall be accepted without fee.
  • (5) Fees for all activities will be accepted only through online payment mode i.e., Net Banking/Debit/Credit Card (both National/ International).
  • (6) No fee shall be accepted in offline mode i.e., DD/ Postal Order /Money order/ cheque etc.
  • (7) While submitting an application form, details in respect of students who have appeared in the Board’s Examinations 2025 will be auto­ generated in the online system and will be visible to the applicants.
  • (8) If a candidate makes wrong entries in his/her application form, gives a false statement, or produces a false document, his/her form shall be rejected, the fee paid shall be forfeited and such candidates shall be considered to have used unfair practices and will be dealt with accordingly.
  • (9) The examination centre will be allotted as per the choice of the city filled in the online form. The same may be chosen very carefully. City allotted once will not be changed. The applicant will be required to provide the correct postal address. An undertaking to this effect will have to be filled while filling the application form.
  • (10) It has been observed that some candidates complete the online entry of the application but do not remit the fee. If the fee is not remitted by the last date, his/her application will be rejected without any notice.
  • (11) Candidates are advised to fill their forms themselves. No excuse that Cyber-cafe etc. has committed the mistake will be accepted and the application will be dealt with as per the rules.
  • (12) Mere submission of the form and payment of the fee will not confer the right of the candidate to appear in the examination. His/her eligibility will depend upon the fulfilment of the eligibility conditions prescribed by the Board.
  • (13) The submission of forms for examination has been made completely online. Accordingly, it is informed that the hard copy of the form is not required to be sent to CBSE.
  • (14) After submission of the examination form and payment of fee, candidates can download a copy of their form for their record and for confirmation of the correctness of data submitted. The candidates can make any correction in their application form, including subject and centre up to the last date of submission of examination form.
  • (15) Applicants will be able to apply only for subjects that are auto­ generated in the system.
  • (16) Care should be taken for indicating the subject code against languages as there is more than one type of course. For language, medium code is not required.
  • (17) Applicant needs to upload scanned jpg files of their photo and signature not exceeding 40 KB in size

Important Note: The fee will be accepted in the online mode only prescribed by the CBSE. No fee in offline mode, direct deposit in the bank account etc. will be accepted. The offline fee deposited by candidate/parent shall not be not be accepted. Such forms without payment of fee will be summarily rejected.
