Subsidy on LPG

742.   ADV. ADOOR PRAKASH:

Will the Minister of PETROLEUM AND NATURAL GAS be pleased to state:

(a) whether the Government has any plan to resume direct subsidy on LPG and if so, the details thereof;

(b) the details of the price of LPG revised during the last three years, date and amount-wise price hiked; and

Details of subsidy on LPG

(c) the detail of the Government’s expenditure for LPG subsidy during the last five years and the current year, year-wise?

ANSWER
MINISTER OF STATE IN THE MINISTRY OF PETROLEUM AND NATURAL GAS 

(SHRI RAMESWAR TELI)

(a): The prices of petroleum products in the country are linked to the price of respective products in the international market. However, the Government continues to modulate the effective price to consumer for domestic LPG. The subsidy, as admissible, is credited to the bank account of eligible beneficiaries. In addition, the Government has started a targeted subsidy of Rs. 200 per 14.2 Kg cylinder for Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana (PMUY) beneficiaries for upto 12 refills a year for year 2022-23.

(b):     The details of prices of domestic LPG at Delhi since April 2019 are given as Annexure.

(c): The details of subsidy on LPG given by Government during each of the last five years are given below:
