DDA’s Housing Scheme 2023: 2,300 Flats Sold in 100 Days

DDA’s Housing Scheme 2023: 2,300 Flats Sold in 100 Days
Almost 100 days after launching its housing scheme, the Delhi Development Authority (DDA) has sold nearly 2,300 flats. The Authority had launched the scheme on a ‘first-come, first-served’ basis on June 30, this year, where it had put on sale 5,600 flats in the one, two and three BHK configuration in Jasola, Rohini, Dwarka, Lok Nayak Puram, Narela and Siraspur areas.
The 2BHK units offered in Dwarka in the price range of Rs 1 crore and Rs 1.2 crore were sold out within a few days. DDA officials said that the sale of flats picked up momentum after it introduced several measures such as allowing the combining of two flats (jodi flats) and allowing actual flat visits before purchase.

According to DDA officials, the Authority has a total inventory of around 40,000 flats located in different parts of the city, including Narela, Jasola, Rohini, Dwarka and Siraspur.

According to DDA officials, the Authority has a total inventory of around 40,000 flats located in different parts of the city, including Narela, Jasola, Rohini, Dwarka and Siraspur.
The official said that several steps were suggested by the Lieutenant Governor V K Saxena, who is also the Chairman of the DDA, to popularise the project.
“The DDA is also aggressively advertising its schemes on various social media platforms and other modes of advertisements. Besides, the Authority has also appointed a real estate consultant to suggest ways to maximise sales and clear inventory,” the official said.
In August this year DDA removed the cap preventing home owners from purchasing a second home in DDA housing schemes in Delhi. Now buyers can buy a DDA house or flat even if they already have a property registered in their name in the national capital.
Another official said that earlier the allotment of flats was done through lottery, and the buyer did not even get a chance to see the property he or she was buying. Now they have an option to visit the actual property they intend to buy.
The DDA also permitted consolidation of adjacent flats on one floor which also encouraged buyers. Apart from these, construction of a police station, hospital, introduction of new DTC routes and the new metro corridor in Narela have also made the region more attractive for buyers, the official said.
