Subject: Schedule of Webinars on introducing Skill Modules in Schools.
As you are aware that the National Education Policy – 2020 has given lots of emphasis on promoting Skill education in school. It states that there should be ‘no hard separation’ between curricular, co-curricular and extra-curricular or academic and vocational/physical education and art.
NEP recommends that beginning with vocational exposure at an early age in the middle and secondary school, quality vocational education will be integrated smoothly into higher education. It will ensure that every child learns at least one vocation and is exposed to several more. In compliance with this, CBSE has introduced various Skill Modules for students of Middle school (i.e. classes VI-VIII). These modules are aligned to the Skill subjects being offered by the Board in Secondary and Senior Secondary classes.
The study material of the Skill Modules being offered by CBSE is available on the CBSE academic website (https://cbseacademic.nic.in) on the ‘Skill Education’ webpage under the books section (for Middle school). (Direct Link: https://cbseacademic.nic.in/skill-education-books.html) With a view to create an awareness about the modalities for introducing these Skill Modules in their schools and also to familarise them with the contents of these modules, the Board has scheduled a series of webinars beginning from 1st May 2023 as per the schedule mentioned below:
