Book Your Seats And Travel in Luxury Across Delhi, Govt to Launch App-based Premium Bus Service Soon

The Delhi government has been adopting various measures to augment its public transport systems and attract more commuters to them. In a latest such move, Delhi Transport Minister Kailash Gahlot announced that the government will soon be launching an app-based premium bus aggregator scheme.
The mobile app will allow passengers in Delhi to reserve their seats on the bus for daily commutes. Under this scheme, the government will allow private bus operators to offer premium services. The government hopes that this scheme will attract car users in the city to use public transportation services.

“While adopting the premium bus services, Regular car owners won't have to worry about parking on a daily basis or having to expose their vehicles to potential traffic risks," the minister added.

According to the minister, the work is in the final stage and the scheme is expected to be rolled out by October. The policy in this regard is likely to be passed within two months and the buses may start offering services within six months.
The service will be provided by private players, as per the rules set by the government. The buses will be a fully air-conditioned fleet with premium features. No standing passengers will be allowed on board.
Ticket rates, routes and other details have not been revealed by the officials. Tickets will only be available through mobile and web-based applications.

Earlier in March, minister Gahlot announced that ‘Mohalla Bus’ services are coming for the first time in Delhi’s history. He stated that the small buses will be purchased and deployed by Delhi Government to provide the facility to the people of Delhi.
