Will the Minister of HOUSING AND URBAN AFFAIRS be pleased to state:
(a) whether the Government has enhanced any outlay for Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY) which is being 66 per cent to over Rs. 79,000 crore;

(b) if so, the details thereof and progress made till now since the initiation of this project along with funds sanctioned / spent in each district till date, State/UT-wise along with future action plan in this regard; and
(c) the demands made  by each  State in  this regard and projects approved and rejected till now along with the reasons therefor?

SHRI KAUSHAL KISHORE
(a) to (c): The total outlay provisioned in financial year 2023-24 for Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, including urban and rural is ₹ 79,000 crore. Out of this, ₹ 25,103.03 crore has been allotted to Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana- Urban (PMAY-U) in FY 2023-24.
Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs (MoHUA) is implementing PMAY-U since 25.06.2015 to provide pucca house with basic amenities to all eligible urban beneficiaries across the country. Under PMAY-U, States/Union Territories (UTs) prepared the project proposals in consonance with the scheme guidelines based on the demand assessed by them and with due approval of State Level Sanctioning and Monitoring Committee (SLSMC), headed by Chief Secretary of the State.
Against the validated demand of 1.12 crore, more than 1.20 crore houses involving Central assistance of ₹ 2.03 lakh crore have been sanctioned under PMAY-U. Of the sanctioned houses, 109.10 lakh houses have been grounded for construction; of which 71.56 lakh have been completed/delivered to eligible beneficiaries as on 06.03.2023.
The scheme period which was earlier upto 31.03.2022, has since been extended upto 31.12.2024, except Credit Linked Subsidy Scheme (CLSS) vertical of the scheme, to complete all the houses sanctioned without changing the funding pattern and implementation methodology.
