Atal Adarsh Prathmik Vidyalaya
1631. SHRIMATI QUEEN OJA :
Will the Minister of EDUCATION be pleased to state:
(a) whether Atal Adarsh Prathmik Vidyalaya were established with a view to impart quality education to the students of primary schools in the country;
(b) if so, the details thereof;
(c) the details of Atal Adarsh Prathmik Vidyalayas at present, State-wise;
(d) the details of the scheme of the Government in order to increase the number of Atal Adarsh Prathmik Vidyalayas;
(e) whether the Government proposes to open two Atal Adarsh Prathmik Vidyalayas in each district and one in each block; and

(f) if so, the targets fixed by the Government in this regard?

(a) Yes, Sir. ‘Atal Adarsh Vidyalayas’ were earlier known as ‘Nagar Palika Schools’ till 31.03.2019.
(b) As per Section 11 (r) of NDMC Act, 44 of 1994, providing Primary Education is one of the obligatory function of New Delhi Municipal Council (NDMC) being a municipal body.
(c) There are 10 Atal Adarsh Prathmik Vidyalayas and 22 Atal Adarsh Vidyalayas under NDMC providing Primary Education. All are located in NDMC area, Delhi.
(d) to (f): As such no proposal is under consideration at present.
