Will the Minister of DEFENCE be pleased to state:

(a) the number of candidates from Andhra Pradesh granted PM Scholarship Scheme (PMSS) during the last four years, district-wise, gender-wise and degree level-wise;

(b) whether an evaluative framework has been established to monitor the utilisation of the funds disbursed under the scheme post sanction;

(d) the number of widows and wards of deceased service personnel who have been roped in as beneficiaries under the scheme, State/UT-wise;

(e) the amount of scholarship along with the number of widows/wards of deceased service personnel from the State who have been benefitted under the PMSS scheme, district-wise; and

(f) the details of the persons in each category who have been provided scholarship along with the date of disbursements of funds to the beneficiaries?

MINISTER OF STATE (SHRI AJAY BHATT) IN THE MINISTRY OF DEFENCE

(a): The data of PM Scholarship is maintained Zila Sainik Board -wise. Grant of PM Scholarship Scheme from Andhra Pradesh for last four years, Zila Sainik Board-wise, gender- wise degree level-wise is placed at Annexure-I.

(b) & (c): Yes, Sir. The PM Scholarships is merit based grant to the selected students. The initial payment is made on the basis of proof of admission and subsequent payment are subject to successful passing of each semester in the first attempt with minimum 50% aggregate of marks.

(d): The details are placed at Annexure-II. (e): The details are placed at Annexure-III. (f): The details are placed at Annexure-IV.
