INTEREST RATE FOR TERM DEPOSIT
880. SHRI KALYAN BANERJEE
Will the Minister of FINANCE be pleased to state:
(a) whether the Government proposes to revise the interest rate for term deposit and MIS in Post Office for the citizens of the country according to the current Repo Rate;
(b) if so, details thereof and if not the reasons therefor;
(c) the number of term deposits with Rural and Urban MIS Beneficiaries as of November 2022 thereof, State/Union Territory-wise;
(d) whether the Government proposes to increase the maximum deposit in MIS considering the Per Capita Income in real terms; and
(e) if so, the details thereof and if not, the reasons therefor?

(a) and (b) The Government periodically revises the interest rate on Small Saving Schemes, including MIS and Time Deposits in Post Office.
(c) Details are annexed.
(d) and (e) The deposit limits are reviewed by the Government, periodically.
