GARIB NAWAZ EMPLOYMENT SCHEME

1459. SHRI SUNIL BABURAO MENDHE:

Will the Minister of MINORITY AFFAIRS be pleased to state:

(a) the details of beneficiaries under Garib Nawaz Employment Scheme since 2019 in the country, State-wise including in Maharashtra, district-wise;

(b) the total number of training centres opened and functional, State-wise including in Maharashtra, district-wise; and

(a): The Gharib Nawaz Employment Scheme (GNES) was started in 2017-18 and the training under GNES was conducted in 2017-18 and 2018-19. The scheme is implemented by the Maulana Azad Education Foundation (MAEF), an Autonomous body, under Ministry of Minority Affairs. The objective of GNES is to provide short term job oriented skill development training to minority youth. So far 74,335 trainees have been trained across the country including 4,550 trained in Maharashtra. The details of beneficiaries under GNES is given at Annexure-I.

(b): The training under GNES has been completed and training centers have been closed after completion of training.

(c): An amount of Rs. 29,10,51,000 as stipend has been disbursed under GNES, including the state of Maharashtra is given at Annexure-II
