Smart class systems set up in Kendriya Vidyalayas(KVs) and Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalayas(JNVs)

Will the Minister of EDUCATION be pleased to state:

(a)    the details of smart class systems set up in Kendriya Vidyalayas(KVs) and Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalayas(JNVs) in Bihar;

(b)    the number of classrooms of KVs and JNVs in Bihar equipped with the above mentioned smart class systems;

(c)    whether KVs and JNVs are taking steps to introduce smart class system in all classes of science subjects and if not, the reasons therefor?

(a) & (b) At present, 49 Kendriya Vidyalayas (KVs) and 39 Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalayas (JNVs) are functioning in the State of Bihar. Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan and Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti have informed that smart class systems (e-classrooms) facilities have been set up in the form of desktop / Tablet based system, Interactive board displays, etc.

There are 393 e-classrooms & 10 personalized learning labs with smart class provision in 34 KVs and 65 e-classrooms & 47 Computer Labs with smart class provision in 39 JNVs in the State of Bihar. Approval of the Government has been accorded to Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti for setting up of 02 smart classrooms each in 550 JNVs including 34 JNVs in the State of Bihar.

(c) Setting up of smart class system (including science stream classes) is a continuous process which depends upon various factors such as opening of new schools, addition of higher classes, availability of funds, availability of Internet connectivity, etc.
