RAIL KAUSHAL VIKAS YOJANA
Will the Minister of RAILWAYS be pleased to state:
(a) the details and the number of youths who have been inducted for training under the Rail Kaushal Vikas Yojana;
(b) the details of applicants from Tamil Nadu who have been inducted for training and the number of youths who have completed training as on date; and
(c) whether the Government has any plans to ensure the placement of a certain percentage of those trained youths into Indian Railways or other suitable Government entities in the near future?

(a) The number of youths inducted for training under Rail Kaushal Vikas Yojana is 6,132.
(b) The number of applicants from Tamil Nadu who have been inducted for training under Rail Kaushal Vikas Yojana is 316 and out of these, 266 youths have completed training as on date.
No, Sir. Rail Kaushal Vikas Yojana is a skill development programme for the unemployed youths of India to impart technical training in various trades to enhance their employability and entrepreneurship. Jobs in Railways are through open competitive examinations and, therefore, candidate cannot be given job based on this training. However, this program is to enhance the skill of a person so that he / she can easily get a job or can start his / her own start up.
