Will the Minister of RAILWAYS be pleased to state:
(a) whether there is an increase in number of SC/ST personnel recruited in Railway Protection Force (RPF) from the past figure and if so, the details thereof; and
(b) if not, the reasons therefor?

(a) Recruitment in RPF is an ongoing process and it is conducted from time to time to fill up the vacancies arising. 15% and 7.5% of the total vacancies are reserved to be filled up by candidates belonging to SC and ST category respectively during the recruitment drive undertaken by RPF from time to time. The vacancies of SC/ST category filled in all the ranks from 2013 to 2021 are 3593 and 2261 against notified/modified vacancies of 3753 and 2384 for SC and ST category respectively.
The figures do not include the candidates belonging to SC/ST category selected against unreserved vacancies.
