Diesel and Petrol Price Hike

Will the Minister of PETROLEUM AND NATURAL GAS be pleased to state:

(a) whether the Government has intervened to stop the price rise of petrol and diesel in the country and if so, the details thereof;

(b) whether the price of petrol and diesel has not gone up during the last one and half months as per the price of international markets, if so, the reasons therefor;

(c) whether the Government has any statistics regarding revenue generated through the sale of petrol and diesel;

(d) if so, the details of revenue generation during the last twelve months, month-wise;

(e) whether the Government has any statistics regarding consumption of petrol and diesel in the country; and

(f) if so, the details of consumption during the last twelve months, month-wise?

(a) & (b): Prices of petrol and diesel have been market-determined with effect from 26.06.2010 and 19.10.2014 respectively. Since then, the Public Sector Oil Marketing Companies (OMCs) take appropriate decisions on pricing of petrol and diesel in line with their international product prices, exchange rate, tax structure, inland freight and other cost elements.

(c) & (d): The details of revenue generation during the last twelve months, month-wise are given below:
